a little bit about me
My names Charlotte, and I believe sharing your life with a dog should be a wonderful experience! I am passionate about educating owners on how to raise their dog to be willing, well-behaved and a pleasure to live with. I aim to help owners make positive changes, reduce stresses and frustrations and understand their dog so their relationship flourishes. By teaching our dogs good foundation skills & boundaries in a world full of every day dangers and challenges, we can help keep them both safe, out of harm and live in harmony together.
My journey in the dog world
I have a Diploma in Canine Behavioural Training. I trained and studied with Robert Allyene, who is now both my good friend and mentor. I completed his Pet Dog Training Instructors course in Winter 2017, where I remained a permanent instructor at his South East based training classes until 2020.
I take a holistic, reward based approach to training, which I feel is essential to our dogs learning and happiness. I also believe in leadership and boundaries to give our dogs a safe, enjoyable life. I have attended and continue to take part in a range of CPD courses, workshops and seminars in which I further extend my knowledge, skills and education: recently including - Diet & the Effects on Canine Behaviour by Dean Hart 2019 and TCBTS Seminar Dogs Have Feelings Too - Oct 2018. I also participate in both competition obedience and gun-dog training.
I truly feel it is important to be able to read and adapt to each individual dog and that being able to work well with owners is just as vital. Previously I have worked in a veterinary centre and animal rescue centre, in addition to running and providing my own private dog walking and care services. Having also been on the other side of problematic behaviours, I appreciate owners need realistic and effective training, support and understanding for real life situations and scenarios. I hold an enhanced DBS and am fully insured.
